Alcoholic drinks continue to dominate the category chart, despite having no brands in the top 10. Stella Artois, Carlsberg, Grolsch and Budweiser all offer a range of promotions with gondola end displays and side stacks.
Multibuy offers dominate for beers and lagers, while price promotions are used more widely for wines and spirits.
Frozen moves back up the category chart by one place to claim the second spot, just ahead of soft drinks. Frozen also has no brands in the top 10, but achieves its success with a wide variety of brands on promotion. The usual stalwarts offer the most support, including Birds Eye and Wall’s. Soft drinks, however, is backed up by Pepsi and Robinsons, which both appear in the brand chart. Pepsi is the only new entry this week and comes straight in at number four.
At the bottom of the chart, household and health and beauty both remain unchanged in terms of positioning. However, household has increased its share by one percentage point, while health and beauty has decreased by the same.
