Former England cricket captains Michael Vaughan and Andrew Strauss have signed up to front Wolf Blass’ Ashes broadcast partnership with Sky Sports.
The duo will appear in TV sponsorship idents for the Australian wine maker, which will run around Sky Sport’s Ashes cricket coverage and also online on catch-up TV.
“We are incredibly excited to have two inspiring leaders like Andrew and Michael signing up to be Wolf Blass brand ambassadors for this year’s Ashes. They are both people who represent the essence of triumph, much like Wolfgang Blass, the founder of the Wolf Blass brand,” said managing director of Treasury Wine Estates EMEA Andrew Carter.
Vaughan captained England during their famous 2005 victory over the Australians, while Strauss was the skipper for the successful 2009 and 2011 Ashes series.
The idents will focus on Wolf Blass’s core Yellow Label South Australian wine.
The Ashes begin today at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, with England seeking to make it three Ashes series wins in a row.
