Marston’s Beer Company is launching three craft-brewed single-hop ales into the supermarkets following the success of a cask range in pubs.

The brewer is producing the 4% abv brews (rsp: £1.80) as part of its 2012 programme to help beer fans understand how ingredients such as hops influence beer flavour. From next month, Morrisons will stock Sovereign, developed for the Jubilee. A subtle floral ale, it is made from an English dwarf hop that grows to just eight inches. In June, the retailer will stock Goldings, made with the classic English hop.

Marynka, brewed from the Polish hop with a herbal, berry fruit and floral aroma, will be sold in Booths from mid-May.
