Start-up business The Platter Company has won its first permanent retail listing with Tesco in time for the festive season.

After a trial in 12 stores, the company has rolled out its platters to a total of 67 Tescos in Hertfordshire, Essex and London.

The range, which comprises sandwich and wrap platters as well as fruit and cooked meat options (rsp: £10 to £15), had been created to plug a gap for a “good-quality offering at a sensible price”, said Richard Booth, who co-founded The Platter Company with Darren Smith last year.
