A range of ambient, flavoured rices and custards in single-serve pots rolls out this month as a more filling alternative to yogurts.
It is particularly hoped the newcomers could bring a younger audience to the sector.
The rice pots will be available in standard, low-fat, chocolate,
banana and caramel flavours, while the custard pots will feature chocolate, strawberry, banana, toffee and vanilla varieties in addition to the standard Devon and low-fat options.
A new Ambrosia Brandy Custard will also be made available in time for Christmas.
Premier Foods general manager Dominic Box said the yogurt-style pots would encourage fridge storage. “This taps into the trend of fragmented meal occasions, increasing frequency of consumption and expanding usage into the snacking arena.”
