Anheuser-Busch, owner of Michelob and Budweiser beer brands, expects its profit per share to be 11% higher in 2004, and it plans to add new products to the market later in the year.

The company plans to add another flavour to the Bacardi Silver brand with a new low-carb Green Apple variety. It also plans to launch 10-ounce aluminium bottle versions of its top brands.

IN recent months Anheuser has acquired ownership of Harbin Brewery Group, China’s fourth largest brewer with a 5% share of the Chinese beer market.

The company entered the Chinese beer market in 1995 with the purchase of a brewery for the Budweiser brand. It also formed an alliance with Tsingtao, the leading Chinese brewer with a 13% share of the market.
