ANM Group has reported a year of poor performance for its food operations, which recorded a net loss in 2006.

The Scottish livestock co-op owns Scotch Premier Meat, which lost £391,000; Highland Country Foods, which lost £64,000; and Charcuterie Continental, which lost £117,000. Only Yorkshire Premier Meat made a profit on its operations, with an £87,000 surplus over the year.

Chief executive Brian Pack said a reorganisation and new customers attracted last year should turn around performance. "We are confident the staff changes we have put in place will start to pay dividends," he said.
