The English apple and pear industry were out in force this week at the two-day National Fruit Show in Kent.

This year also marked the 70th anniversary of the event and entries across all top fruit classes were on the increase, organisers reported.

Cobnut entries were also up. However there was a reported downturn in soft fruit this year.

Trade stand space was also fully booked with 72 exhibitors, up from 65 last year.
