NZ exporters give backing to bulk bins A report on the New Zealand apple industry has revealed the increasing use of bulk bins over traditional cartons and tray packs, due to the substantial cost savings they bring exporters. Bulk bins are cheaper to ship but still keep the fruit in good condition  one reason that their numbers rose from 7,500 in 1997 to 56,000 last year. More fruit is also being exported in CA containers. Last year most of the Cox crop was transported in this way, and a great percentage of this came to the UK. {{FRESH PRODUCE }}
