Asda is introducing US style coffee bars as part of efforts to provide an upmarket restaurant experience. Entitled Food to Go, the new bars aim to mirror the ambience and product range of high street chains such as Starbucks, Café Nero and Coffee Republic. The move follows Safeway's move to kit refurbished stores with the more stylish Café Fresco restaurant. Food to Go is half the size of a standard instore café and will be added to stores previously considered too small to include a café. Some larger restaurants will be replaced by the new concept to free up space for more specialised services such as photo processing centres. Ultimately, about 30 stores will have the cafés. {{NEWS }}
