Asda has been voted turkey retailer of the year in the 2007 Turkey Awards, which aim to recognise commitment to British-sourced meat.

The retailer was handed the title this week at a London award ceremony. Judges praised Asda's clear packaging, which highlights serving suggestions, health and nutritional information and British origin, plus the quality of the meat inside.

Tesco also got a special mention for its prominent use of the Union Jack on packs, plus its campaign to feature real farmers' faces on pack. Morrisons and Waitrose won awards for turkey products in specific categories.
