Glanbia Foods has launched a pioneering research and development facility at its South Cheshire creamery Reece's in Malpas. The launch of the Centre of Cheese Excellence heralds the arrival of a programme of new product development which will include new speciality cheeses and further branded propositions. The centre replicates the Malpas creamery process on a scale of one tenth. Glanbia aims to use it to facilitate close working relationships with suppliers and customers. General manager Andrew Toward said: "The launch of the centre of excellence reflects our desire to mobilise innovation throughout the business. "Our customers will be involved in every stage of the new product development process with each project being supervised by a dedicated new product manager."
