Aldi’s Specially Selected range has seen value sales grow 17% year on year, the discounter says, with sales set to reach £1bn this year. Launching at the end of 2005, the premium lineup appeared as part of Aldi’s Christmas offering, with products including mince pies and a turkey joint alongside non-seasonal products. This year, its Christmas range will have more than 160 SKUs, and its year-round lineup now features 300 products. Specially Selected lines won 20 awards at The Grocer’s Own Label Food & Drink Awards this year.
