Aunt Bessie’s has a new managing director at the helm in the form of Mark McDavid.

The former MD of Hallmark Cards said he was proud to be joining the Hull-based business, which has sales of £158m.

McDavid, who has also previously worked for Northern Foods, Wilkinson Sword and St Ivel, said: “I have enjoyed telling friends and relatives that I am joining Aunt Bessie’s because, without exception, everyone knows and loves the brand.

“Aunt Bessie’s has already shown that it can span ­different parts of the food market and this offers great opportunities.”

Aunt Bessie’s, which produces up to 20 million Yorkshire Puddings each week, has seen its sales grow to £158m over the past 15 years.

It is owned by the William Jackson Food Group a 160-year-old ­family business.
