Manor Bakeries - the maker of Mr Kipling cakes - has been ticked off by advertising watchdogs for making misleading claims in a prize draw.

The company was criticised for not making clear that no purchase was necessary for entry into a competition featured on the packaging of one of its cakes.

Manor Bakeries acknowledged this and said the promotion was no longer being run. And that they has taken steps to ensure similar errors did not occur in the future.

The Advertising Standards Agency reminded the bakery firm to take more care with promotions on packaging in the future.
