Barkham Blue cheese has been named Supreme Champion at the 2008 British Cheese Awards. The cheese, produced at the Two Hoots creamery in Berkshire, was praised by judges for its sweet, spicy butter-like taste.

Best Irish cheese was Laviston from Knockdrinna Farmhouse Cheese, while Pont Gar Garlic and Herbs won best Welsh cheese. Other winners included JA&E Montgomery for Best Cheddar, Stinking Bishop for Best Semi-Soft Cheese and Long Clawson’s Red Leicester Aged for Best Territorial (non-Cheddar).
