Bendicks is unwrapping a £2m television advertising campaign to back its chocolate confectionery line-up in the run-up to Christmas.

It is also putting another £2m behind the Werthers toffee brand, and tins of Werthers Original tins are undergoing a revamp.

The company is also adding a new Mingles cracker pack to its range and bringing out a new 200g pack format and a 400g gift size for its ­Gorgeous chocolates next month.

Trade marketing manager George Mclearie, said the Christmas confectionery market was "relatively flat", but that Bendicks was showing 21.2% growth within premium chocolates.
