Edinburgh Gin and pheasant stuffed with haggis have made the 2011 Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards shortlist, sponsored by The Grocer.

A total of 53 products from big hitters such as Mackies, Nairn's and Macsween to smaller suppliers such as Saladworx and cake maker Lazy Day Foods made the cut.

Winners will be announced at a dinner at the Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro Hotel on 26 May where guests will dine from a menu designed by Nick Nairn. The full shortlist is at www.scotlandfoodanddrink.org.
