Western Wines is strengthening its position in the South African wine arena with two limited edition premium offerings.

The Kumala Single Vineyard Series has been launched to show “the best South Africa can offer” and will only be produced in years when conditions in the vineyards are exceptional. The brand debuts with a limited edition Chardonnay from the 2002 vintage sold exclusively through Waitrose, rsp: £14.99.

The Kumala name is also being extended to the Winemaker’s Selection range, which, at £9.99, is less premium than Single Vineyard. A 2002 Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon introduces the range and is available now in Thresher.
