Bestway has reported a slight rise in sales over the Olympics.
Without citing figures, it said sales were up “by a single digit” percentage.
“Bestway stocked up in advance on key areas and was able to cope with extra call from retailers,” said operations director David Gilroy. “We sold a lot more impulse products including soft drinks, water and impulse ice creams.”
There had been no problems with logistics, he added. “All customers who were contacted ahead of the Games and given the best routes to the branches, and at what times, used those and it worked.”
Trading for retailers was mixed, he admitted, with reports of both good and bad trading.
