Bestway has launched an own-label fruit and vegetable range for c-stores under its Best-in brand.
The range of pre-packed and price-marked lines comprises 20 of the most popular fruit and vegetable products, said Bestway, and would give convenience stores the opportunity to tap demand for local chilled foods. Prices include three bananas for 79p, six tomatoes for 99p and an iceberg lettuce for 79p.
“Consumers would like to buy fresh locally rather than make additional trips to multiples,” said Bestway fresh and chilled category controller Steve Carter. “Local stores do other areas of chilled and fresh well, so there is no reason retailers can’t provide a strong fruit & veg offering.”
