Ale brands McEwan’s and Newcastle Brown Ale, along with Woodpecker and Scrumpy Jack cider, are to receive a £2m marketing boost this autumn. Jygsaw Brands, the company set up in February to look after S&N’s ‘heritage brands,’ aims to reinvigorate the drinks. Activities include a glass giveaway with McEwan’s, on-pack competitions for Scrumpy Jack and the chance to win a weekend in Newcastle on bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale. There is also a tie up between sweet cider Woodpecker and Gala Bingo.
