Hats off to Kohinoor, who wins the prize for this week's most pointless world record - the world's largest biryani.

Weighing in at 13 tonnes, the giant-sized curry required three cranes to manoeuvre 3,000kg of Basmati rice, 3,000kg of veg, a 'pinch' (68kg) of salt, 85kg of chilli peppers and 1,200 litres of cooking oil. The pot was set on a three-feet-high furnace so the 60 chefs, who cooked it for 10 hours, had to wear fire-resistant outfits. Presumably like the one Mrs Bogof wears when she cooks.
