Arla Foods UK is to launch Castello Black, claimed to be the first black-mould cheese in the UK. The cheese will hit Tesco stores in mid-November, targeted at the speciality sector. It is made from a mixture of cow and sheeps milk and retails at £1.69. The launch follows the success of the Castello Blue and White varieties.

“Now comes the strongest and most intriguing family member,” said brand manager Sam Dolan. It will be supported by a £2.1m marketing package to include online, TV, press and sampling activity.
