Blue Nun is getting into the party spirit with a sparkling line.
In a return to sourcing wines from Germany, Riesling Secco joins the range this month.
Available in Sainsbury, the newcomer, priced £5.99, has a frosted bottle sporting a specially designed label across the neck with a brown string attached to seal the cork.
Blue Nun’s UK distributor, Ehrmanns, said the wine was aimed at summer parties, adding that a “comprehensive promotional support package” had been put in place. Keith Lay, marketing director at Ehrmanns, said: “A lightly sparkling dry wine is a natural extension for the brand, which is fast developing into a wide range of wines from both the Old and New World. With Riesling Secco such a unique and interesting wine, we expect it to play a big role in changing trade and consumer perception of Blue Nun.”
