Interbrew has jumped at the chance to link Boddingtons with the Commonwealth Games which take place in Manchester, where the beer is brewed. As part of its £14m investment in the brand this year the Belgian brewer has signed Boddingtons up as an official partner of the event. As a result, it will become the official beer and will have category exclusivity throughout the 10 days of the games, from July 25 to August 4. A range of promotional activities in the north-west, will include Boddingtons branded cabs and an exclusive cask ale brew. Brands director Phil Rumbol said: "The Commonwealth Games will be one of the most important events of the year for the north-west. It is set to be the biggest multi-sport event to be held in the UK since the 1948 Olympic Games." {{DRINKS }}
