Apparently we drink beer 60% slower from pint glasses with straight sides than we do from old-fashioned glasses with sensuous curves.

Yet more research from fun-busting boffins desperate to keep us on the straight and narrow: apparently we drink beer 60% slower from straight-sided pint glasses than we do from old-fashioned curvy ones.

Allegedly, most people are so dozy they don’t realise the top half of a pint glass contains more liquid than the bottom, on account of being considerably wider.

There’s no word on how to make people drink cans slower though - other than perhaps making the ring-pull harder to pop.
