Here’s one for unnecessary innovations corner: the smart wine bottle.
The $199 decanter, made by Kuvée, went on sale in the US this week. A range of 48 wines have also gone on sale in special metal canisters, which can each be placed inside the central device. A clever bit of valve-and-bladder action allows them to be poured without any oxygen getting in, which as we all know can spoil your drink - if you dislike it so much anyway that you leave it lying around for weeks.
