Musgrave has entered into talks with Boots about supplying it with food products.
Last month Boots revealed plans to launch an own-label range built around evening meals in September.
Chief executive of health and beauty Alex Gourlay said the range would focus on convenience while building on the high street chemist’s reputation for health.
In 2010 Boots sold Waitrose products as part of a trial but the results were disappointing. A trial to sell Boots products in Waitrose stores has also ended and will not be extended.
Boots has held talks with a number of other grocers recently, according to press reports.
The news comes in the week that parent company Alliance Boots sold a 45% stake to US pharmacy Walgreen.
