London brasserie Le Bouchon Breton is to launch a monthly cheese masterclass for the public in a move aimed at expanding shoppers' knowledge of regional varieties.

The masterclasses, starting next month, will be run by newly appointed frommelier Jean-Claude Ali-Cherif. He will be teaching consumers about different varieties, production processes, how to care for cheese and when best to eat it. He will also offer advice on which wines best complement the cheeses.

The brasserie opened in October 2008.
