BrewDog, the controversial Scottish microbrewer behind a raft of super-strength beers, is on the hunt for fresh investment.

The maker of Punk IPA and the 35% abv Tactical Nuclear Penguin is bidding to raise £2.2m to fund the next phase of its growth.

To save cash, the company has opted against a formal listing and instead wants drinkers to chip in online, with a minimum investment of £95.

The move marks the second round of fundraising by BrewDog, which launched in 2007. Two years ago it raised around £700,000 via a similar scheme.
