Sales of Freedom Food pork have soared as shoppers look for more ethically sourced meat. Volume sales of pork products including pre-packed fresh pork, sausages, bacon and cooked ham have risen 80% to 7,224kg [Kantar 52w/e 16 May].
Danepak has extended its reach from bacon and fresh pork cuts into sausages for the first time. Two lines traditional pork and pork and bacon have gone into Tesco, The Co-operative and Somerfield (rsp: £3 for a 475g pack of 10).
