A new logo designed to promote Great British Shellfish is to be trialled at pubs and restaurants.
Developed by the organisers of shellfish festival Crabstock, the logo would flag up to consumers when they were bying shellfish that came from UK waters, they said in a statement.
“The logo is intended to tell consumers they are supporting UK fishermen and safeguarding the long-term future of coastal communities,” they said.
The organisers are now looking for 12 pubs and restaurants, preferably in inland destinations, to trial the logo.
This year’s Crabstock will be held at Devon Cliffs Holiday Park in Exmouth on 14 and 15 September.
