Britvic has introduced hi-tech, touchscreen vending machines that encourage consumers to play games to win free drinks.

The Drench branded ­machines, which will be located in shopping centres and train stations at major cities for the next two months, are programmed with 40 different touch-screen games.

The idea was to demonstrate that "brains perform best when they're hydrated", said Britvic.

The machines dispense a free bottle of Drench to consumers who complete the tasks, which range from maths challenges to spot-the-difference games.
