Wholesalers and wine producers are set for a sales achievement update by independent Phil Brown at this year's Federation of Wholesale Distributors Drinksummit. Last year Brown gave an account of how he had increased wine sales 31% in volume and 37% in value after adopting the FWD's Blueprint for Wine. But he also told brand owners they needed to invest more in the wholesale sector. Since then suppliers have visited Brown's shop, Weald Post Office in Kent, and used it to trial new initiatives. Wholesalers at the event on May 27/28 will also celebrate a 7% rise in beer market share for independents ­ the first leap in sales since ACNielsen records began. {{NEWS }}
