Christmas pud manufacturer Cole's Traditional Foods hopes to tantalise tastebuds with a champagne pudding. The 450g innovation is made using Marc de Champagne spirit distilled from spent champagne grapes. Fresh orange and lemon juice and freshly cut peel give the traditional recipe a citrus flavour. Chief executive Christopher Cole said: "It is based on a traditional plum pudding recipe that has been in our family for more than a century, but with a special modern twist. As far as we know, this is the only Christmas pudding available that's made with real Champagne." The puddings (rsp £5.99) are suitable for vegetarians and can be microwaved. {{P&P }}
