Burnt Sugar is planning its first foray into impulse this autumn with a range of indulgent fudge bars.

The 50g bars would be available in original crumbly and sea-salt caramel flavours and targeted at consumers looking for a more indulgent snack to eat with morning coffee, said founder Justine Cather.

The bars would be followed in September with two new recipes - caramel toffee and nougat - which join the company's 180g shareable box range.

The range has recently been boosted by the arrival of sea-salt caramel crumbly fudge flavour, currently being rolled out to Waitrose stores. Sampling activity is planned at 30 consumer shows and festivals this year.

The £2m company recently secured listings in more than 200 Morrisons stores and makes its debut in Asda in September.

It plans to deliver turnover of £3m in the next 12 months and continue to grow sales by 50% to 70% over the next few years.
