Two award-winning cheese producers have become one.

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses this week announced the purchase of Ravens Oak Dairy in Nantwich, which had fallen victim to spiralling production costs, forcing owner Sandy Allwood to sell.

Colin Hall, owner of Butlers, said: “We are pleased to have Ravens Oak and Sandy on board. It’s good news for both companies.”

The move would give Ravens Oak access to a larger business with economies of scale, and give Butlers the chance to expand its range with the addition of another premium brand.
