Irish soup brand Cully & Sully is set to launch a range of organic soups in 2019.

A four-strong lineup including Organic Summer Greens with cucumber and mint and Organic Amber Soup with smoked paprika and mascarpone cheese will roll out in Ireland first before coming to the UK later in the year (rsp: £2.49).

The award-winning brand, which already has listings in 2,000 Tesco stores nationwide for its existing chilled soup lineup, said it also planned to expand into risottos and meals in the future.

“At Cully & Sully, knowing where our food comes from and the quality of the ingredients that we use has always been really important to us. Our motto is ‘only ingredients your granny has heard of’,” said co-founder Colum O’Sullivan.

“We have always wanted to launch a range of organic soups, which use as much fresh local vegetables as possible and not frozen, blanched organic vegetables, as you will so often find in organic products.”

Cully & Sully, which launched its soups into Tesco in 2016, accounted for 7.2% of the supermarket’s total soup sales last year, it claimed [Nielsen Top 100 Brands data, August 2017].

The brand also recently launched into the French market, with its soups now available in over 200 retail outlets around Paris.

Cully & Sully was purchased by Hain Celestial Group in 2012, but its founders remained at the head of the business. Its turnover reached €13m to year end June 2017, with a forecasted turnover of €15m for 2018.
