Hawkes cider

“For too long we’ve allowed big brand ciders to dominate,” said Hawkes founder Simon Wright

BrewDog-owned cider brand Hawkes has made its national supermarket debut in Sainsbury’s.

The brand’s Apple Cider and Dead & Berried flavours have rolled into 500 stores. The former is a “classic medium dry cider with a crisp, wine-like finish”, while the latter mixes strawberries, raspberries and blueberries “for a natural sweetness” (rsp: £2/500ml).

“For too long we’ve allowed big brand ciders to dominate,” said Hawkes founder Simon Wright. “This shows just how the UK’s appetite for craft cider is growing.”

The brand has also unveiled a raft of festive NPD. Soul Trader and Elephants on Ice are available through the brand’s online store and specialist retailers.
