Piccolo

Organic baby food brand Piccolo has extended its portfolio with the launch of six new stage one pouches.

Four ‘fruit inspired’ flavours will be available from 12 September, in Mango, Apple & Kale with a dash of Yoghurt; Raspberry & Apple with Soaked Oats; Banana, Strawberry & Peach with a hint of Mint; and Sweet Potato, Beetroot, Apple & Pear (rsp: £1.10).

Two vegetable SKUs - Carrot & Sweet Potato with a hint of Parsley, and Pea, Courgette & Leek with a hint of Mint flavours (rsp: £1.20) - have also been launched by the brand. The newcomers will be available exclusively from Waitrose.

Piccolo now has 12 stage one blends in its range, which is inspired by Mediterranean family recipes.

The NPD push comes after northern supermarket Booths listed Piccolo pouches in July and delisted larger brands Hipp Organic and Heinz as part of a baby fixture reset.

“We are excited to introduce six new products and will be unveiling our stage two collection next month,” said Piccolo founder Catherine Gazzoli. “It’s fantastic to see there’s such a demand for Piccolo, and it certainly proves all the hard work has paid off.”

Waitrose babycare buyer Amy Glover added: “I am really excited to launch the Piccolo 100% vegetable range exclusively at Waitrose. The products look and taste amazing and support our strategy to encourage vegetable-based weaning while reducing sugar in little ones’ diets.”
