This week there has been no change to any of the number one positions which have been retained by Tesco, Heinz and alcoholic drinks. The category chart has remained particularly stable with only one change from last week which is at number five with a new entry for dairy. Alcoholic drinks continues to be supported by activity on Grolsch and Stella Artois. Heinz has increased it's lead in the brand chart standing a full 5 percentage points ahead of its nearest rival. Cadbury has increased its presence in store and Roses have made the first appearance in the prelude to the usual seasonal activity on jars and tins of chocolates. Safeway moves up the chart to number two forcing Sainsbury and Asda down. Activity in Safeway focuses upon price promotions and there is a plethora of off fixture displays helping to secure its chart position. l Promotrack is produced for The Grocer by Logobrand on a weekly basis to highlight the key promotional activity in the top four multiples.
