Cadbury continues at the top of the chart though Heinz is piling on the pressure and now stands less than one percentage point behind in second place. While Cadbury mainly features multibuys and price promotions, Heinz also includes extra-fill offers and buy-one-get-one-free offers.
Walkers moves up four places to number three and only time will tell if this is the start of another period of promotional dominance for the brand.
Birds Eye and Coca-Cola, meanwhile, remain stable in positions four and five respectively. However, Birds Eye has slipped slightly in terms of share.
The big story in the chart this week is that there are four new entries. Persil is the highest new entry with price promotions and extra-fill offers on gondola ends.
Kellogg comes back into the chart after an absence of three weeks, and the other two new entries are Bernard Matthews and Bisto. The latter almost exclusively uses the bogof with promotions on granules, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings.
