Cadbury said that it had decided to sell the business following a strategic review.
Cadbury said: “The board has decided to focus the group’s financial and management resources on its confectionary and other beverage businesses which have greater potential for higher growth and returns.”
Todd Stitzer, chief executive officer of Cadbury Schweppes, added: “The potential for growth and value creation is greater in the group’s other operations, and therefore we believe it is in the best interests of our shareowners to investigate a sale of the business.”
The main brands in the business include Schweppes, Orangina, TriNa, Oasis and La Casera.
Cadbury said that a sale is expected to commence in the near future.
