Artisan bakery Cat & The Cream has secured its first major mainstream listing.
The individually packaged cupcakes, which are dairy, wheat and soya-free, are rolling out now to Ocado in eight variants (rsp: £2.69).
The Battersea-based business, launched in 2010, is also available in Whole Foods Market and a handful of independents. The next step for the brand would be the supermarkets, said co-founder Cat Lyne. “People are making an effort to source better-quality food and the multiples are positioning themselves to satisfy the demand,” she added.
Lyne is developing further lines, including larger cakes, due to launch later this year.
