A Californian wine brand created specifically for the UK market is on its way over here to tackle the over

£5 sector.

Using wine sourced from the EOS winery in Paso Robles, the brand is named after the Blackburn brothers and Drury James, the uncle of outlaw Jesse James, who founded the town in 1873. Blackburn & James, which bears the strapline 'The Spirit of the Pioneer', will initially consist of a Chardonnay, Merlot and a Cabernet Sauvignon at £6.99 each, with a Pinot Grigio and a Petite Syrah

to follow.

"Its packaging delivers on the premium cues and authenticity of origin that we know consumers paying over £5 for a bottle of wine are looking for," said Claire Summersby of distributor PLB.

The brand's packaging is designed to evoke the foundation of Paso Robles and it features portraits of the namesakes on the neck foil with signatures on the main label.
