Characters from the hit Disney films The Incredibles, Toy Story and Finding Nemo are being used to target children by soft drinks company Calypso.
The drinks company’s first licensing deal with Disney will include Fruit Smoothies developed for children aged four to 10 in two flavours - The Incredibles-branded Strawberry, and Toy Story-branded Tropical.
Made from 100% fruit juice, each 150ml serving meets the government’s 5-a-day criteria, carrying the logo on-pack, and
contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
In addition, the company’s Welsh natural water will feature a tie-in with Finding Nemo to encourage children to drink more water. Each 250ml sports cap bottle has a peel-away label revealing a joke to add a fun element to the drink.
All three products are launched next month.
“The tie-up couldn’t have come at a better time for us, as we are majoring on the hydration qualities of all Calypso soft drinks as well as the fact that none contains either added sugar or any artificial colours and flavours,” said Richard Cooke, marketing director.
