Cadbury has been upping its marketing activity recently, which included another showing for the First Taste, First Love TV ad. The creative shows two teenagers beginning a love affair thanks to their first taste of the chocolate. It also embarked on a nationwide sampling tour, while 200,000 shoppers will be getting e-mail vouchers to exchange for any Cadbury Dairy Milk single bar.

Nestlé Rowntree struck gold with its Kit Kat Big Brother promotion, which it ran earlier in the year, with the chance for one winner to enter the Big Brother house as a contestant. There was speculation over whether it was a fair competition after the winner was found to be a previous Big Brother applicant, but Nestlé was given the all clear by the Advertising Standards Authority last month.

Advertising for the World Cup took up much of the airtime over the summer, with Masterfoods' Mars Believe campaign making most of the headlines. As well as adverts calling for England to unite and believe in its football team the company also had other innovative ideas to promote the brand, such as the Mars Believemobile tour - a glorified camper van.
