After last year's poor pack of Pink Salmon in Alaska and Canada, news from Seattle that this will be a good year for pinks has been well received. High prices which were a result of last season's low pack adversely effected sales. So with an expected catch of 95 million fish against last year's 70 million, prices should be lower when they are announced later in the year. Canada is not expected to figure in the export market this season, as its reduced pack will go mainly to the domestic market. In previous seasons, the UK market has depended on Canada for the small 105g can. But with more canning lines available in South East Alaska, buyers will secure their requirements from these sources. {{M/E CANNED GOODS }}
