Carlsberg UK is proving its commitment to the premium bottled beer market by adding two more lines to its portfolio.
The brewer is launching the premium speciality Jacobsen range into the UK, starting with two varieties - the 7.1% abv Saaz Blonde and the 4.6% abv Bramley Wit. This is the first time the beers will be available outside Scandinavia, where they have been very popular, according to the company. The range was originally launched in Denmark in 2005 to complement food and to suit the demand for speciality beers.
Marketing director Darran Britton said: "Saaz Blonde is the perfect beer to accompany roast meats such as chicken or lamb."
The beer is brewed in the Belgian top-fermented beer style, making a light golden beer with a fruity aroma.
Wheat beer Bramley Wit has a higher level of carbonation that lends itself to Thai or fish dishes, said Britton. It has a hint of Bramley and Belle de Boskoop apples, and fresh orange peel.
